Swapping out a hardwired oven or connecting a new induction cooktop is not DIY territory. Here is what the installation involves and what you should ask before buying.
Appliances like ovens, induction cooktops and hot water systems are hardwired directly to the switchboard. Connecting or disconnecting them is licensed electrical work. Getting it wrong risks fire, electric shock, voided warranty and an insurance problem if something goes wrong.

What happens during installation

Induction cooktops draw significantly more current than gas or older electric models. Before purchasing, check whether your existing circuit and switchboard can handle the new load.
